All terrain mountainboarding 
Also known as 'dirt surfing' or 'land boarding', and also 'kite boarding' when paired with a Power kite.
A cross between skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding - Mountainboarding is a fairly new extreme sport gaining massive popularity.
All terrain boarding, or mountain boarding is all about getting down a hill having fun. Riding something similar to a long skateboard with pneumatic tyres, you strap in and roll down everything from a gentle grass slopes to urban streets. The riding sensation is somewhere between snowboarding, surfing and skating, with the benefit of being able to ride on almost any surface.
Beaches are the best place for kite boarding - check for restrictions first though!
Although a lot of riding takes place in woods and fields, a large number of mountain board centres have opened across the UK.
Many of these centres hold fun days and regional competitions where you will see four man wheel to wheel racing and riders performing tricks borrowed from snowboarding and skateboarding, and some new ones specific to ATB.
All Terrain Boarding is very easy to do and lots of fun. If you would like have a go at boarding there are centres all over the UK, all of which are suitable for beginners.
A 30 minute lesson will get you started and you will surprised at how quick you will be linking turns. Mountain boarding is also perfect for kids.
All centres have a wide range of Mountain boards for hire, including Junior atb, or you can take your own - don't forget helmet and pads!
There are mountain boards for everyone, including kids ATB models and all have gentle nursery slopes to get you started, as well as rougher terrain for more experienced riders.
